Engineers India's association with petrochemical Industry dates back to late sixties when it undertook the Aromatics Complex of Indian Petrochemicals Corpn. Ltd., Vadorara. EIL has provided its services for six out of seven mega petrochemical complexes built in the country since then including the Naphtha Cracker and Downstream Plants at Vadodara and the Maharashtra Gas Cracker Complex at Nagothane for Indian Petrochemicals Corpn. Ltd. besides the integrated refinery cum aromatic based petrochemical complex of Bongaigaon Refinery and petrochemicals Ltd. at Bongaigaon, Assam, the Auraiya Petrochemcal Complex of the Gas Authority of India Ltd. and the Gandhar Petrochemical Complex of the Indian Petrochemicals Corpn. Ltd. EIL provided basic engineering package, detailed engineering, procurement, construction supervision, commissioning assistance and project management services for the Integrated Offsites and project services for the entire Haldia Petrochemicals Complex. In addition, EIL has also done considerable work in the field of petrochemicals outside India specially in Iran and Malaysia.

EIL is capable of undertaking complete responsibility for implementing integrated petrochemical projects comparable in size with those of international plants using the most sophisticated technologies. These include Aromatics, Naphtha and Gas Crackers and downstream plants as well as related facilities e.g. integrated offsites and utilities, environmental protection systems etc.
