The pollution of air, water and soil has become an ever increasing problem. A considerable part of the pollution is caused by solid waste material. Incineration is one of the possibilities for the disposal of refinery and petrochemical wastes. Facilities are available at Gurgaon to generate process information for the design of industrial incinerators. Two kinds of facilities have been installed : a fluidized bed combustor and a rotary kiln. Most solid waste materials can be incinerated in one or both of these facilities.
