Dr. Avinash Chandra, former Director General, Hydrocarbons has been appointed by the President of India as non-official part time Director on the Board of EIL, for a period of three years.

Dr Avinash Chandra has been one of the longest serving oil industry experts with over 45 years experience. He has several post graduate degrees from India and abroad including a Ph.D in petroleum geology from UK . He was the first Director General, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, Govt. of India for more than 10 years and has been on the Board of various oil PSUs, including Navratna Companies, for over 10 years.

Dr. Chandra was also on EIL’s Board as Government Director during the period October 1998 to September 2003.
